Structural & Functional Spinal Rehabilitation at Integrity Chiropractic

Spinal Rehabilitation at Integrity Chiropractic

The majority of chiropractors will adjust the spine for lack of motion and mobility, but that is only the start of things at Integrity Chiropractic. In combination with the adjustment, our doctors and rehab team address the overall muscular function of the spine & extremities as well as the overall structure of the spine based on the clinical literature.

When the structure of the spine is addressed, the goal of treatment is to reduce abnormal spinal loading from a gravitational perspective. Mechanical engineering and mathematical principles are utilized and applied to the spine to approximate a more appropriate configuration toward the published normal and ideal values. The doctors at Integrity Chiropractic all have over 100 hours of post-doctoral training in Chiropractic Biophysics and have passed the CBP certification process in Mary Esther, Florida.

Moreover, functional aspects of the spine are addressed in conjunction. Functional rehabilitation incorporates progressive resistance based exercises to strengthen the musculature of the spine and create long-term endurance and support. The exercises chosen are specific to each spinal configuration and the weakness patterns that are identified on the initial examination. The Principle of DAPRE is also applied which means daily adaptive progressive resistance exercise. DAPRE is utilized to build strength and endurance of the spinal system and to make sure that continued progress is made.
